Description

Nestled in the heart of Tabriz, Iran, Tabriz Bazaar is an ancient market and vibrant hub of commerce and culture for centuries. Rebuilt about three centuries ago after the 1193 AD earthquake by Najafaqli Khan Danbali, ruler of Tabriz, it was registered in Iran's national heritage list in 1354. The construction date of this complex is unknown. Most timchehs and serais have three floors: lower for storage, second for business and work, third for rest. Main rows connect via sub-rows, with timchehs and serahs in between. Intersections feature brick dome arches; the largest is Timcheh Amir Dome, the most beautiful Timcheh Mozaffarieh.
