International artists compete for the best ice sculptures as part of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, while over 10,000 workers build life-size replicas of famous monuments from ice and snow. The festival opens officially on the first weekend of January and runs through mid-February, but you can visit in December or late February depending on Harbin's weather.
