Toganji Temple (桃巌寺) is a Sōtō Zen Buddhist temple in Nagoya, central Japan. Originally built in 1502 by Oda Nobuyuki in memory of his father Oda Nobuhide, it was moved to its current location in 1714. The grounds feature a turtle pond, a grove of giant bamboo, and a 10-meter tall Buddha statue known as 'The Great Buddha of Nagoya,' erected in 1987. Closest subway: Motoyama Station on the Higashiyama Subway Line, near Nagoya University. Address: 2 Chome-16 Yotsuyatori, Chikusa Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 464-0819, Japan.
