Jacobabad, a historic city on the Sindh-Balochistan border in Sindh province, Pakistan, lies at the junction of the Pakistan Western Railway and main roads through Sindh. Founded in 1847 by General John Jacob on the site of Khanghar village, it features monuments commemorating Jacob and a mud pyramid for his horse. Incorporated as a municipality in 1875, it holds Pakistan's record high temperature of 126°F (52°C) in the shade.
