Description
Coventry, the 9th largest city in England and 12th in the UK, is the second largest in the West Midlands after Birmingham, with a 2015 population of 345,385. The current Coventry Cathedral was built after the 14th-century cathedral church of Saint Michael was destroyed by the Luftwaffe in the Coventry Blitz of 14 November 1940. The city contributed significantly to the British motor industry and hosts Coventry University in the city centre and the University of Warwick on the southern outskirts.
