Part 1 of my Daegu trip showcases favorite spots in this beautiful Korean city. Daegu feels like a smaller, friendlier, less hectic Seoul, with welcoming people who asked where I'm from and a more relaxed lifestyle. I stayed in a hanok sleeping on the floor for the first time—unusual but worth experiencing. Visited E-World and Daegu 83 Tower, Seomun Market, Suseongmot Lake, and Kim Kwangseok Street honoring a singer who died young.
